Working with trans/transgender and gender nonconforming people is something that I find deeply fulfilling as a trans-identified clinician. I have experience working with people around navigating and articulating gender identity, finding social supports and models for what you imagine your gender to look like, writing letters for medical transition, and managing gender dysphoria.
I work with adolescents, adults, and transgender and gender nonconforming children and their families. When working with children and teens, I also work with their families/caregivers to help provide support and resources to everyone in what can be an overwhelming and confusing time of learning about your loved one's gender identity.
I use informed consent in working with transpeople and do not believe in therapy as a gatekeeping tool. I don't believe there is any one standard trans narrative or in the concept of being "trans enough". I believe in working with you on your specific therapy goals whether or not these are directly related to your gender identity and in making therapy work for you.
